WEB House NA is a contemporary take on the classic treehouse, designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects as a permanent residence. Inspired by the intricate web of branches found in nature, the house features a series of interconnected steel platforms that create a unique and playful living space.
The structure is composed of 12 white steel frames, each measuring 8 feet wide and 12 feet long. These frames are arranged in a staggered pattern, creating a series of voids and overhangs that allow for different levels of privacy and openness. The platforms are connected by a network of stairs and ladders, providing access to different parts of the house.
The exterior of WEB House NA is clad in a translucent polycarbonate skin, which allows natural light to filter into the interior while maintaining privacy. The interior is characterized by its minimalist aesthetic, with white walls and ceilings, and exposed steel beams and columns. The house features a variety of spaces, including a bedroom, living room, dining room, and kitchen, as well as a rooftop terrace.
WEB House NA is a unique and innovative design that challenges traditional notions of domestic architecture. It is a playful and creative space that encourages interaction and exploration. The house has received widespread recognition for its innovative design, and has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions.
