The 2024 Ampol State of Origin series will make its way to Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on June 27, with the New South Wales Blues facing an uphill battle to keep their hopes alive.
The Queensland Maroons secured a 1-0 series lead by defeating the Blues 24-18 in the opening match in Sydney on Wednesday. A record-breaking performance from Maroons winger Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow proved decisive, as he crossed for three tries.
The Blues will now be desperate to level the series in Game 2 in Melbourne, a city they have not played Origin in since 1999. A loss would hand Queensland an unassailable 2-0 lead and the series win.
