Thierry Henry set to coach French Olympic soccer team at Paris 2024
The French Football Federation has announced that Thierry Henry will be the coach of the men's football team at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
A dream come true
Henry said he is "living a dream" after being handed the role. The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker was capped 123 times by France and won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000.
A wealth of experience
Henry has been working as a coach since 2015, when he was appointed as assistant manager of the Belgium national team. He left that role in 2018 to become head coach of Monaco, but was sacked after just three months.
Henry then had a spell as manager of Montreal Impact in MLS, before returning to Europe to coach Bordeaux in 2020. He was sacked by Bordeaux in February 2021.
Henry will be hoping to lead France to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. The French team will be one of the favorites for the tournament, and Henry will be able to call on a wealth of talent, including Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Eduardo Camavinga.
